Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to take off all my parts?
Yes. To manipulate the frame as needed for repairs, it is easiest to have all parts off of the frame.
What if I need my frame back faster?
We can do rush repairs on frames that are particularly time sensitive. The rush service has the frame ready to ship back within 3 days from the date we receive it. The rush fee is an additional 50% of the cost of the repair work.
Do I need to include the fork?
No. We only need the fork if you would like us to inspect or repaint it.
What else should go with my frame/wheel?
Please fill out and include the Repair Order Form in the box with your frame. You can download the form here.
What do you repair?
We can perform repairs on carbon bicycle frames and carbon wheels where the repair does not involve the braking surface of the wheel. We do not repair forks or handlebars. If you have a special carbon repair request, please contact us to see if we can help.
What do you not repair?
Frequently rejected repair requests are ones that involve aluminum-to-carbon bonding, carbon handlebars, forks, and damage involving the braking surface of carbon wheels.
What is your lead time?
Usually 1 week depending on the work involved. Please call us to get a more reliable time estimate for your repair and repaint. Extensive paint jobs after repair will require additional time. We can do expedited repairs with 3 day turnaround if requested for an additional fee.
What do you repaint?
We typically only repaint the area impacted from the carbon repair. We only do a full repaint upon request.
Will my frame ride different?
Your frame should ride the same as it did before. In instances of major damage that required reinforcement, the frame may be a bit stiffer and stronger in that section after repair.
